    LEED PROJECTS

DWG, Inc. has fully embraced the US Green Building Council’s LEED program and is fully committed to incorporating sustainable and energy efficient solutions into all of our designs.  We have instilled this as a basic design philosophy.

Our staff is highly trained with specialized experience relating to indoor air quality, steam, condensate, high temperature hot and chilled water systems, thermal storage systems, energy management systems, lighting efficacy, daylight harvesting and system efficiency.
To that end, all of our designs have built in energy efficiency and sustainability in mind. We boast a very high ratio of registered professional engineers, and currently have 6 LEED Accredited Professionals on staff. It is our goal to have all our technical staff LEED Accredited by the end of 2008.
Early on, DWG Inc. realized the importance of Sustainable Design and its inherent energy savings, especially as it relates to the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems. As such, DWG Inc. has made Sustainable Design an integral part of its corporate mentality.
Our early involvement in the LEED program has allowed us to evolve with the program and gives us that much more experience in getting projects through the approval process. Many can say that they have submitted projects for LEED accreditation, but what sets us apart is that our projects are accredited; we presently have US Green Building Council certificates for LEED Accreditation on three projects.

DWG was the Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing design consultant on Half-Moon Outfitters, which has been awarded Platinum Level by the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Program.

Half-Moon Outfitters is South Carolina's first LEED Platinum building and only the 25th in the nation to receive LEED Platinum status.

Further, it is understood that it was the first project in the United States to receive Platinum Level utilizing the newer and more stringent LEED NC 2.2 rating system.
