Electrical Engineer

 Essential Job Functions

  • Perform all aspects of Electrical Engineering as it relates individually assigned projects.

  • Requires limited mentoring on complex system designs.

  • Works independently in a team environment to complete project from start to finish with little to no input from Supervisor.

  • Capable of working independently on highly complex projects to design multiple systems (A/V, IT, Lighting, Power, etc.).

  • Understands and implements cross-discipline coordination.

  • Plan & design electrical systems for complex projects of various types including; institutional facilities, commercial buildings, medical complexes, educational facilities, laboratories, and government facilities including Construction Administration.

  • Performs self QC on work and plans for/seeks appropriate peer review of work.

Education/Experience

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or an Architectural Engineering Degree with an emphasis in Electrical Engineering

  • 3-5 years related experience in Consulting Engineering

 Machine/Equipment/Computer Requirements

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • AutoCAD (most current version)

  • Revit (most current version)

  • Visual Lighting Software

BIM Designer

 Essential Job Functions

  • Consult sketches, notes, schematics, guides, and other documentation to create detailed, 3-D BIM drawings of corporate products.

  • Produce BIM models for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems by collaborating with Project Managers, Staff Engineers, and other professionals under the direction of a Team Leader.

  • Follow established BIM standards in regards modeling, and other aspects of BIM usage.

  • Review existing BIM drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.

  • Perform clash detection simulations and resolve clashes through collaborating with Project Managers, Staff Engineers, and other professionals.

  • Edit, rework, and update BIM drawing files as required by product changes, modifications, additions, and so on.

  • Where necessary, install, configure, and initiate BIM software, related hardware, and any other corresponding IT assets.

  • Populate and maintain BIM information repository database.

  • Update standard details and templates.

  • Proofread and correct documentation errors.

  • Where necessary, assist in migration projects to newer versions of BIM applications.

  • Recommend strategies for document management as it relates to BIM outputs, including collection and revision.

  • Set up and update BIM models and transfer files to clients.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 Education/Experience

  • BS in engineering, architectural design, or computer science, or equivalent years of experience. 

  • 2+ years related experience as a BIM Operator, drafter, or technician

  • Strong knowledge of system and BIM software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.

  • Strong knowledge of architectural drafting standards, as well as blueprint and specification reading skills.

  • Strong technical translation skills.

  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
